Tour – USA IV – Beale AFB air show – California – June 2025 – 4Aviation

On 7 and 8 June 2025, an air show is scheduled at Beale Air Force Base in California. Beale is home to the U-2 Dragon Lady fleet. With the U-2 slated for withdrawal in a couple of years, this is probably the last opportunity to see them at their home base.

We will fly from Amsterdam to Salt Lake City on Sunday 1 June 2025 to spend two days in an area where we have not been before. Hill AFB and the Hill Aerospace museum are on the program. On Tuesday 3 June 2025 we will continue to Los Angeles to explore NAS Lemoore from the outside on Wednesday, we have discovered a few nice spots in the last few years. On Thursday we will go via Fresno (California Guard F-15s), Stockton (California Guard CH-47s) and the cool museum at the former Castle AFB to Sacramento where we want to visit several places on Friday. You should think of CalFire, with their unique firefighting aircraft, and the Aerospace Museum of California at the former McClellan AFB and an Army unit at Mather Airport. On Saturday and Sunday, it will be Beale AFB’s turn for the open days, after which we will return home from Sacramento on Monday 9 June 2025 to arrive there on Tuesday 10 June 2025.

Except for the open days, we will visit all the fields from the fence, no base visits. Again, a very nice, varied trip, we think with a number of bases/locations where we have not been before.
