Information

The Aviation Nation airshow at Nellis AFB (Nevada) is normally held in November, but has now been announced for 5-6 April 2025. The show is always interesting, which is why we will plan a tour there. We intend to go to the USA for about 8-10 days and further pay a visit to MCAS Yuma, where in all likelihood the WTI (Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course) is taking place. This is a major exercise in which many dozens of United States Marine Corps aircraft are participating. Further possibilities for a visit are southern California Naval bases (NAF El Centro, NAS North Island and MCAS Miramar), among others. So enough locations to make it a very interesting tour.

The itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.

On Friday 4 April 2025 we will fly to the USA and return to the Netherlands on Monday 14 April 2025.

The plan at this moment is as follows:

  • Friday 4 April 2025: fly to Los Angeles
  • Saturday 5 April 2025: visit Aviation Nation at Nellis AFB
  • Sunday 6 April 2025: visit Aviation Nation at Nellis AFB
  • Monday 7 April 2025: MCAS Yuma from outside
  • Tuesday 8 April 2025: MCAS Yuma from outside
  • Wednesday 9 April 2025: MCAS Miramar, NAS North Island from outside
  • Thursday 10 April 2025: MCAS Miramar, NAS North Island from outside
  • Friday 11 April 2025: drive to March ARB and pick up nice stuff on the way
  • Saturday 12 April 2025: visit Southern California Airshow March ARB
  • Sunday 13 April 2025: fly to the Netherlands
  • Monday 14 April 2025: arrival in the Netherlands

Tour cost

Price for this tour is € 2399,- per person. This price includes:

  • Flight from The Netherlands to the USA
  • Flight from the USA to The Netherlands
  • Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis, two beds and ensuite bathroom)
  • All transportation in the USA
  • € 9,- contribution to GGTO

You can also book this tour without the airline tickets. In that case you will have to take care of the transportation to and from the USA and within the USA. The price for the tour without airline tickets is € 1749,- per person. The single-room supplement for this tour is € 475,-.

Not included:

  • individual travel insurance
  • entrance fees for museums or airshows
  • all meals
  • all personal expenditures
