Sirio exercise – October 2024

Information

The Spanish Air Force hosts its Sirio exercise at Gando Air Base (Gran Canaria) in October 2024 again. The exercise normally attracts a large number of Spanish Air Force fighter aircraft from almost all units. This year, the exercise is scheduled from 21 to 30 October 2024.

Since the base offers very good photo opportunities, we plan to organise a tour to Gran Canaria. A great opportunity to combine nice weather and relaxation with great aviation photography.

Itinerary

The itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.

We will fly to Spain on Sunday 20 October and return to the Netherlands on Thursday 24 October 2024.

In 2022, more than 30 Spanish aircraft took part in the exercise (EF-18s from Torrejón and Zaragoza, EF2000s from Albacete and Morón, C295, A400 and NH90s, and of course the aircraft from Gando itself). We have three full days to photograph the participants near this air base, which offers great photo opportunities.

Tour cost

Price for this tour is € 999,- per person. This price includes:

  • Flight from The Netherlands to Spain
  • Flight from Spain to The Netherlands
  • Hotel accommodation (middle class hotels, twin share room basis, two beds and ensuite bathroom)
  • All transportation in Spain
  • € 9,- contribution to GGTO

You can also book this tour without the airline tickets. In that case you will have to take care of the transportation to and from Spain. The price for the tour without airline tickets is € 599,- per person. The single-room supplement for this tour is € 240,-.
