Tour – Russia/Zhukovsky – MAKS 2017 – July 2017 – 4Aviation

Itinerary

The itinerary that follows is to be considered as preliminary.

On Wednesday 19 July we will fly to Moscow (probably making one stop on our way there) and return to the Netherlands on Sunday 23 July 2017.

We have scheduled at least two days for the MAKS show at Zhukovsky. The idea is to actually visit the MAKS show on one day (during a trade-show day). The other time we will visit MAKS from the outside and position ourselves South of the air base. The major advantage of this is that the sun is behind you for photography. We have done this in 2012 as well, during the celebrations for 100 years of Russian military aviation, and during the 2013 and 2015 MAKS tours and were very happy with the result.

On the third day (Friday) we want to make a visit to the museum in Monino. Contrary to earlier reports the museum is still open and they say they should be open by the time of our tour as well. Furthermore we will try to organise a visit to the Moscow Aviation-Repair Plant ROSTO at Chernoye on this day. We cannot give a confirmation of that at this moment though.

We are pretty flexible anyway with regard to whether or not you want to go on base (Zhukovsky/MAKS). If you rather stay outside we can accommodate this and if you want to visit the event itself more than once or want to make use of the photo platform that is possible as well. If you want to go to MAKS on the third day as well (instead of the museum and possibly Chernoye) we can help with that this as well.

During the previous MAKS tour we have deliberately not included a public day (because of the masses), but we will include that this year. We will go to Zhukovsky on Saturday this year because we expect a better result with regard to the flying display contents.

If you want to go to Moscow longer or shorter that is possible too. We can offer a longer tour for € 60,- per person/per day. The flights are included in this option, but you have to arrange your own itinerary, transport etc. for the extra days. A shorter tour is possible from € 60,- per person/per day less.
