With only a couple of months left for the F-4 in JASDF service, we decided to organise an extra tour to Japan, to catch some proper Rhino action! Main goal was to photograph Phantoms of all remaining units. The tour filled up quickly and on Saturday 1 February 2020 a group of dedicated photographers gathered at Schiphol for the long flight to Tokyo. Along the way, and after arrival in Japan (Sunday 2 February), we met the rest of the group. After picking up the cars, we headed out to the Science Museum of Map and Survey, where a Beech 65P is preserved. After we finished up here, we drove to our hotel to get some well deserved rest.

It was not my first trip with 4Aviation. As before, I experienced this tour operator as highly professional, they know exactly the right spots where you can take the best pictures and, directions are preset-up in their GPS’s, resulting in no time loss to go around the air base. User friendly, because the tour leader is regularly consulting the participants where to go, and what to do. […] For me, it was also big fun to meet other friendly spotters and exchange experiences and ideas.
