The 2022 PhanCon, the Phantom Conference organised by the F-4 Phantom II Society, took place in Europe for the first time. As a result of the efforts of Coert van Breda, a group of 80 F-4 Phantom aficionados we welcome on Andravida (Greece) on 5 and 6 July 2022.
4Aviation organised a short tour to this event for a small group that had registered for PhanCon themselves.
So it happened, that on Monday 4 July a group of originally four people would gather at Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport early in the morning. The meeting time was set at 08.00 in the morning, for our flight that was scheduled to leave at 12.20. Still, these 4+ hours were just enough to get to our aircraft in time. One participant, who arrived at Schiphol around 08.30 wasn’t so lucky and didn’t manage to get through the check-in process in time and eventually had to cancel his participation.
The flight, one more participant (who flew in from Ireland) had joined, was uneventful. As all flights should be. At Athens Airport another three participants were met and we headed for Patra in our rental van.
