On Monday 10 June we were welcomed at the spotters day at Schleswig. An early ‘to-go’ breakfast and a short bus ride later ensured that we were at the gate of Schleswig early. There was already a long queue but the German efficiency ensured that after the start-up the access was arranged quickly. There was a large area available for the photographers and a separate area for food and drinks (and the necessary souvenirs). The weather was still sunny at the time of entering but in the distance we could already see the rain clouds that would play tricks on us later in the day.
The morning mission left around 09:00 and some aircraft made a spectacular take-off! A large part of the participants were part of the morning wave that lasted about two hours. The place for photographers was along the taxiway and fortunately most of the aircraft that returned took this runway so that they could be photographed well (although we had to accept the rain now and then).
The food during lunch was well arranged by the organization (and included!) so that everyone could prepare themselves for the afternoon mission. The weather had cleared up a bit, at least it was dry. The group was surprised by a US Navy SeaHawk that came to visit from nearby Kiel. The afternoon mission was largely a repeat of moves so even more chance to take pictures of the aircraft.
At the end of the day, when the last aircraft had returned, it was time to get back on the bus on the way home. During a long drive everyone was dropped off safely on Tuesday 11 June. On to the Tiger Meet of 2025 in Portugal!
